Among giants: yosemite, ca

A group of friends and I planned a short twenty-four hour trip up to Yosemite National Park from Orange County, CA. We headed out around 7:30pm and arrived at about 1:30am. After a couple hours of sleep on the side of the road, we packed our bags for the 12 mile hike that awaited us at 4am. Switchback after switchback we slowly headed up the steep mountain with nothing but headlamps and the sound of the morning calmness. It was very majestic just being in the wild and watching the sun slowly rise through the valley. We made it to the top after about a good six miles of nonstop uphill madness. It took about three hours along with a 3,200 foot elevation climb to reach our destination. Standing at the top looking out over Half Dome and Yosemite Falls, I realized how small I really am in this world. The weather that we had there was so unreal. Fog covered the tip of Half Dome and it began to lightly snow on us. After eating lunch we then packed up and headed back down the mountain. We arrived at the car after about 2 hours of hiking down and explored other parts of the valley. Starting from random stops along the road to skateboard in the rain, to standing underneath the enormous Yosemite Falls. This was such a quick trip but it was amazing experience. This was my first time ever visiting Yosemite and I fell in love with it immediately. I can't wait to explore the other areas that surround it again soon!

UNCHARTED: CALIFORNIA DESERT

Took a day trip out to Imperial Dunes and Joshua Tree National Park with a couple friends. We caught the most amazing sunrise I have ever witnessed as the fog was rolling through the farmlands near Brawley, CA. After spending the morning there we headed over to the dunes and explored the vast landscape for a couple of hours. This place is always such an amazing sight to see. I always find myself coming back and exploring more of its beautiful terrain. The last stop we made was in Joshua Tree National Park to watch the sunset. I grew up and spent eighteen years of my life living only ten minutes away from the park and it never gets old. There is so much to see here and I highly encourage others to travel here in your spare time! This was such a fun day trip and I can't wait to get back on the road soon. 

Journey to the pacific north west: washington/oregon trip

Paige and I took a trip up to Seattle, WA to visit a couple friends and spend some time exploring the Pacific Northwest. I am always so excited to be up there and it is by far my favorite city! The lifestyle, the landscapes, and the people are what always what makes me miss this place so much after leaving. We spent the first few nights in a hotel that overlooked downtown Seattle. The first day we drove up to Franklin Falls and found ourselves in awe of the frozen landscapes that surrounded us. That evening we enjoyed a few drinks, a nice dinner in the city, and got a good nights rest. The second day we drove down to Oregon and explored the Columbia River Gorge Highway and witnessed some beautiful areas off the road. During our stay we did a lot of driving to different famous landmarks and eventually met up with a couple friends who invited us to stay at their cabin on Lake Cushman. We spent the last couple of nights there and explored around the lake as much as we could. I am always so amazed at the weather conditions we catch along every trip. It is always so perfect for hiking and taking photos. Overall we had an amazing time visiting the Pacific Northwest and I can't wait to be back up there again soon. I may live in Southern California but my heart is in Seattle.
